Much of the Central Coast was without power Sunday night after an equipment failure in Morro Bay left approximately 149,000 Pacific Gas and Electric Co. customers in the dark. Around 9:25 p.m., a problem in PG&E’s Morro Bay switchyard blackened homes from the Santa Ynez and Lompoc valleys to Atascadero, according to company spokesman Blair Jones. Power was restored to approximately 137,000 customers by 12:30 a.m. Monday.
